You are never alone.
The grief support group at the Cathedral of Saint Peter provides support to people in our community who are grieving the loss of a loved one. We are frequently reminded of the reality of death, and our Christian responsibility to offer some degree of comfort to those who mourn.

Our ministry is managed by a small group of dedicated individuals who have been exposed to death and dying in their own lives. They have received instruction on the grief support group process and have a special empathy which is required when dealing with bereaved persons.
The grief support group will work through a series of topics to help you understand the grief process and to find healing.
The winter session of the Grief Support Group will meet Wednesday evenings from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. beginning on January 5th and ending on January 26th.

The spring session of the Grief Support Group will meet Wednesday evenings from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. beginning on May 4th and ending on May 25th.

The fall session of the Grief Support Group will meet Wednesday evenings from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. beginning on September 7th and ending on September 28th.

All meetings take place at the Diocesan Pastoral Center, 330 Wyoming Avenue, Scranton.

Lord, at the moment nothing seems to be able to help the loss I feel. My heart is broken and my spirit mourns. All I know is that Your grace is sufficient. This day, this hour, moment by moment, I choose to lean on You. For when I am at my weakest, Your strength is strongest. I pour out my grief to You and praise You that on one glorious day when all suffering is extinguished and love has conquered, we shall walk together again.
