Holy Family
Prayer Chapel
In 2010, as part of a diocesan-wide restructuring of parishes, Holy Family Church was closed and was consolidated with the Cathedral. To preserve a small part of the parish’s 119-year history, the Cathedral constructed the Holy Family Prayer Chapel in the space of the former Marian Chapel.
The focal point of the chapel is the statue grouping of the Holy Family - patrons of Holy Family Church - which were originally housed on the church’s main altar. To the right and left of the grouping stand statues of Saints Cyril and Methodius. Opposite the candle rail, a statue of Saint Anne, also from Holy Family Church stands in testament to the devotion the parishioners had to the mother of Mary.
