44th Anniversary of Ordination to the Priesthood of Monsignor Rupert

I am grateful to Christ Jesus our Lord…because he judged me faithful and appointed me to his service. 1 Timothy 1:12

The Cathedral family extends special congratulations to our pastor, Monsignor Dale Rupert on the occasion of his 44th Anniversary of Ordination to the priesthood!

Forty-four years ago on May 19th, Monsignor was ordained a priest by Bishop J Carroll McCormick and has served the Church in the Diocese of Scranton as a pastor, educator, spiritual director, mentor to seminarians and deacon candidates, liturgy expert and a spiritual guide and friend to many.

We consider ourselves blessed by his presence and are grateful to him for the guidance and leadership he so lovingly provides at the Cathedral and in the Diocese of Scranton.

On behalf of our parishioners, friends, and all those who call the Cathedral their home, we pray that God grant him many happy, healthy years in his priestly ministry.

O Jesus, our great High Priest, hear our humble prayers on behalf of your priest, Msgr. Dale Rupert. Give him a deep faith, a bright and firm hope and a burning love which will ever increase in the course of his priestly life. Grant him the wisdom, understanding, and strength he needs to follow in the footsteps of Jesus. Inspire him with the vision of your Kingdom.

O loving Mother Mary, Mother of Priests, take to your heart your son who is close to you because of his priestly ordination and because of the power which he has received to carry on the work of Christ in a world which needs him so much. Be his comfort, be his joy, be his strength.

We ask this through Jesus Christ, who lives and reigns as our Eternal Priest. Amen.
