& Family

“It is worthwhile to live as a family, that a society grows strong, grows in goodness, grows in beauty and truly grows if it is built on the foundation of the family.”

Pope Francis

Respect Life

One of the most pressing issues of our time is the defense of the most innocent members of our society: children in the womb before birth.

Any initiative in the Pro-Life Movement begins with praying for the end to abortion and a restoration of a culture of life in our country and around the globe.

Prayer for the Unborn

Heavenly Father, in Your love for us, protect against the wickedness of the devil, those helpless little ones to whom You have given the gift of life.

Touch with pity the hearts of those women pregnant in our world today who are not thinking of motherhood.

Help them to see that the child they carry is made in Your image - as well as theirs - made for eternal life.

Dispel their fear and selfishness and give them true womanly hearts to love their babies and give them birth and all the needed care that a mother can give.

We ask this through Jesus Christ, Your Son, Our Lord, Who lives and reigns with You and Holy Spirit, One God, forever and ever. Amen.

Marriage

Marriage is a vocation to holiness.

From their first days as husband and wife through their golden years, married couples have the awesome task of witnessing to God’s faithful love to each other, their children, and society.

Family

Families are a privileged place where faith can be lived, celebrated, learned and passed on from generation to generation.

It is in the family that we first learn about our faith and how to pray. It is through this prayer that we are able to share the joy of the Gospel with one another and the world.

A Prayer for Families

Jesus, Mary, and Joseph, in you we contemplate the splendor of true love, to you we turn with trust.

Holy Family of Nazareth, grant that our families, too, may be places of communion and prayer, authentic schools of the Gospel, and small domestic Churches. Holy Family of Nazareth, may families never again experience violence, rejection, and division: may all who have been hurt or scandalized find ready comfort and healing.

Grief Support

You are never alone in your struggle with grief.

We are frequently reminded of the reality of death, and our Christian responsibility to offer some degree of comfort to those who mourn.

Prayer for Strength when Grieving

Lord, at the moment nothing seems to be able to help the loss I feel. My heart is broken and my spirit mourns. All I know is that Your grace is sufficient. This day, this hour, moment by moment, I choose to lean on You. For when I am at my weakest, Your strength is strongest. I pour out my grief to You and praise You that on one glorious day when all suffering is extinguished and love has conquered, we shall walk together again.
